Mein Haus steht auf dem Kirchplatz im Herzen des Dorfes und ist sehr alt. Da der Platz so hübsch ist, mit seiner romanischen Kirche, sitze ich abends am liebsten draußen und schaue den Mauerseglern und Fledermäusen zu. (Es wird einen größeren Tisch geben, damit man bequem draussen essen kann.)The house stands in the church square in the heart of the old village. The square with the romanic church is very pleasant. I like to sit outside in the evenings watching the house martins, swallows and the bats. I often sit outside to eat my evening meal, alone or sharing the ambiene with my friendly neighbours.
Die Küche ist gothisch mit einem großen Kamin und einem großen Tisch in der Mitte. Sie ist das Herz des Hauses, wo sich Freunde und Familie gerne zu einer gemütlichen Runde einfinden. Es gibt einen Herd, einen kleinen Backofen, einen Kühlschrank mit Eisfach, genügend Geschirr und eine richtig gute Espressomaschine. Sehr wichtig! The kitchen is the heart of the house. The style is normanic with a big chimney. The equipment here comprises a hob, an oven, a fridge and of course pots and pants and a cafetiere - very important!

Von der Küche aus geht es ins Atelier.

Es ist hell und luftig und mit allem ausgestattet was man zum arbeiten braucht. Sie dürfen selbstverständlich alles benutzen: Die Werkzeuge, die Staffeleien (eine Staffelei ist transportabel, falls Sie in der Natur arbeiten möchten.) Der Fußboden darf vollgekleckst werden!
The atelier is a wonderful light and airy room. There you find items to help with your work - please feel free to use whatever you need. If you wish to work 'al fresco' there are portable items, too. And don't worry if you spill on the floor!
Das Badezimmer ist noch älter als die Küche und stammt aus der romanischen Zeit. Es wurde wahrscheinlich zeitgleich mit Schloß und Kirche gebaut. Im Winter 2008/2009 wurde es komplett renoviert und ist wunderschön geworden. Es gibt eine Waschmaschine.The bathroom is the oldest part of the house. From the romanic time, but perfectly moderned. I believe it dates from the same time as the church and the chateau. I have tried to do a recent renovation in sympathy to its history. There is also a washing machine

Vor dem Schlafzimmer befindet sich der kleine Balkon und man schaut direkt auf das Schloß. Es ist mein Lieblingszimmer. Es gibt ein Himmelbett für 2 Personen, ganz viele Bücher (einige auf Englisch) und ganz viele CDs von Klassik bis zu französischen Chansons. Ein CD Player ist natürlich auch vorhanden.
The bedroom has a little balcony, which overlooks the Chateau. Here is a double four-poster bed and my library. Some of my books are in english. You will also find my CD collection and a CD player. Both of which im happy for you to use and enjoy.
Im Wohnzimmer gibt es ein sehr schönes altes Bett als Schlafplatz für zwei weitere Personen. Eine Sitzgruppe um den Kamin und viele Kunstbücher und Zeitschriften zum lesen und inspirieren lassen. Der Kamin kann leider nicht benutzt werden. Ich habe ihn abdecken lassen, weil immer wieder die armen Mauersegler hineingestürzt sind.In the living room is an old french 'boat bed' which will sleep two people. There is again the view of the chateau. The main focus of the room, however, is the original fireplace of the house. Now unfortunately unusable, it had to be sealed to prevent the birds from falling inside. There you will find many art books (a lot of them in english) and art magazines - please make use of those.
Für kleine Kinder ist das Haus ungeeignet. Im Atelier gibt es zu viel Chemie, Farben und Kleinkram. Kleinere Hunde dagegen sind willkommen, es gibt auch ein Hundekörbchen. Sie werden von meiner englisch sprechenden Freundin Anges empfangen, an die sie sich mit allen Fragen und Problemen wenden können. Sie lebt im Nachbardorf. In unserem Ort gibt es zwei Ärzte, eine Apotheke, einen Supermarkt, einen Bäcker, einen Fleischer, zwei Friseure und ein Postamt. Ausserdem finden Sie eine Bar und eine gutes Restaurant/Cafe am Marktplatz. Alles ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen.
The house is unsuited for young children. As with the most artists studios there are too many dangers for them. The house may be too small for large dogs but dogs are welcome, and they may even use my dogs basket. On your arrival my friend Agnes will be there to greet you - she speaks english and will be able to answer questions and will help you out with any problems you may have. St. Chaples has two doctors (1 english speaking), a pharmacy, a baker, butcher, supermarket, two hairdressers and a post office. Also you will find a bar and a nice restaurant/cafe at the marketplace. All you can reach in a few minutes by foot.
Der Mietpreis beträgt 500 € pro Woche plus 50 € einmalige Endreinigung. Wenn Sie keine Bettwäsche und Handtücher mitbringen können, können Sie beides für 30 € ausleihen.
The rent is 500 € per week plus 50 € one time end cleaning fee. Linen, bedding and towels can be provided at 30 €.
